A rather fowl looking island. Part of the 4-Island Tour.
Chicken Island (Koh Gai / Kai or Hua Khwan)
Chicken Island is named after the strange rock formation which looks like the head and neck of a chicken. One end of the island consists of steep cliffs, while the other end has beautiful beaches along its peninsula. At high tide, this peninsula gets flooded, creating a small island. There is no accommodation on Koh Gai island. Excellent snorkeling opportunities in warm and clear water is highly recommended as the island is rich in coral life. Koh Gai can be visited all year round, as it is not affected by the monsoon season being located on the outer edges of Ao Nang bay.
The rock formation is even visable on the ferries going to Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta.
