Quote:
Wild West Bar, O'Mallerys Irish Pub, and the Rasta Hideout are all 3 within 20 'nonsober' meters of each other on Choa Fa Road just up from the Pier by the Grand Tower Hotel. Nothing too exciting but a very familar and friendly atmostphere to be had. -- Randy from Rwanda
On the very end of Maharat Road there is a cluster of Farang Bars:
Bopeyes (now JK's)
Good Day Pub? (for rent)
Area 51 (still open - still sleazy)
Not far from these are a couple real 'beer bars' complete with massage parlour next door and ladyboy katoeys up front.
Then there are the Thai style bars:
Sin Roads offers the classic massage with happy ending.
see Thai Discos for the dirty details.
Crazy Bar is just that located just past the Morning Market.
And further up the road is a true loud Thai disco ... Mixers ... buy the Sang Som at the door! And dance until the sound makes your ears bleed!

Bar Reviews
Complete Nightlife Guide to Krabi, Thailand asia by night & entertainment during the evening meal. Krabi Nightlife Ao Nang possesses plenty of bars, the nightlife here is rather dull (unless your a punter).
The @rt Caf? is a coomfy cocktail bar with Happy Hour from 7-11pm. @rt Caf? Cocktails are good and strong; fun music from Abba to All Saints.
The most atmosphere in Ao Nang 'The last cafe' at the southern end of the ao nang beach. Run by young Rasta Thais. A small Chang is 40 thb and they play the usual hippy weedy music : BobMarley, Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Ton Sai beach offers a fantastic view of the sunset. A great way to enjoy this is from one of the many bars along the Ton Sai beach. Drinks and food are cheap, the view is great, and the atmosphere superb. Two of the bigger bars are the Freedom Bar, at the Rai Lay end of the beach, and the Dream bar, at the other end. At peak time it's not uncommon to have a beach party, the location of which alternate each night.
East Railay beach has plenty of places to get a beer or 17, but we found this place to be one of our favorites. CliffsMan is one of the local rock climbing operations here and so as you might guess CliffsMan Bar is their expansion into getting the rock climbing officianados drunk at the end of the day. Plus the guys working the bar seem to be having as much fun as you are and there is a climbing wall set up right next to it so you can watch speed races while enjoying your Beer Chang.
AO NANG is possibly the 'spot' of KRABI - at least for the moment. It is the smaller version of Patong in Phuket, Chaweng on Samui, or the Night Bazaar od Chiangmai. I, personally like it and hope that it remains small the same way as it is although there has been an extension to the stretch. Like any other night spots AO NANG is much more humble and the stores and people there are much more smiley than wanting to make a hard sales like they do in other places.
Krabi Nightlife. Here, the sun set at 6.30 pm. By this time, you could be clocking in for beer O 30 local bar beach that serves local beers plus Hinikiens and cocktails and enjoy the sunset with a thai wiskey bucket.
